- Clean front bumper in crosshatched area.
- Position underride guard (1) on front bumper and mark position with adhesive strips (2).
The assembly position is predefined by the shape of the underride guard (1).
- Cut adhesive strips (2) between underride guard (1) and front bumper.
Carefully cut adhesive strips (2) with suitable knife.
Otherwise the surfaces on the underride guard (1) and front bumper can be damaged.
- Cut protective foils (5) on adhesive strips in center area of underride guard (1).
- Slightly remove protective foils (5) on adhesive strips in center area of underride guard (1) and bend at an angle of 45° in direction of outer edge of underride guard (1).
- Slightly remove protective foils (3) on adhesive strips as shown and bend at an angle of 45° in direction of cutout edges of underride guard (1).
- Slightly remove protective foils (4) on adhesive strips as shown and bend at an angle of 45° in direction of outer edge of underride guard (1).
- Fix angled protective foils (3, 4, 5) in place with adhesive tape at outside of underride guard (1).
- Position underride guard (1) on front bumper according to adhesive strips attached.
- Remove adhesive tape (6) to fix protective foils (3, 4, 5) in place.
- Remove protective foils (3) in direction of side outer edges of underride guard (1) and slightly press on underride guard (1).
- Remove protective foils (5) starting at center of underride guard (1) in increments of 45 to 20 cm up to outer edges of underride guard (1) and slightly press on underride guard (1).
- Remove protective foils (4) in direction of outer edges of underride guard (1) and slightly press on underride guard (1).
- Firmly press on underride guard (1) starting at center of component in direction of outer edges.
When pressing on, press directly on adhesive strips on underride guard (1).
Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.
The maximum adhesive strength is only reached after approx. 72 h at 20°C. Prevent any mechanical stress. Avoid any contact with moisture (e.g. rain, fog, carwash) within the first 24 h.
- Remove adhesive strips from underride guard (1) and front bumper.
