The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and can be accomplished analogously on the right side of the vehicle.
- Clean rear bumper in crosshatched area.
- Prime rear bumper in crosshatched areas.
Observe processing notes for primer.
- Remove expansion rivet (4).
Expansion rivet (4) can be reused.
- Slightly remove protective foil (3) from adhesive strip at end and bend in direction of outer edge of rear mud guard (2) (arrow) at an angle of 45°.
- Position rear mud guard (2) and install expansion rivet (4) on rear mud guard (2).
- Install retaining clip (5).
Ensure that the retaining clip (5) is installed so that the barbs (5.1 and 5.2) can reach into the rear mud guard (2).
- Remove protective foil (3) and firmly press on rear mud guard (2) in area of adhesive strips.
- Screw self-tapping screws (6) into rear mud guard (2).
- Screw self-tapping screws (7) into rear mud guard (2).
