Retrofit Front Spoiler On Front Bumper - AZ88.20-P-0018-01LWG

Model 253.3/9 

  1. Attach the tapes (4) to the edges of the bumper to prevent damage when installing the front spoiler lip (1).

    IMPORTANT Use JA-Band masking tape (company Tape-Team) or varnishing tape.

  2. Position the front spoiler lip (1) and carefully engage the retaining tabs in the catch tabs (5), moving outward from the center.

    IMPORTANT Remove protective foil in the area of the retaining tabs.

    IMPORTANT Use aid of a helper to clip in the front spoiler lip (1).

  3. Position the right front spoiler trim (2) and align it with the edges (arrows).

    IMPORTANT There must not be any gap between the right front spoiler trim (2) and the front apron. The bonding area must make full contact.

  4. Remove the protective foil (7) of the adhesive strip on the front spoiler lip (1) in increments of 5 cm and press the right front spoiler trim (2) onto the exposed bonding surface of the front spoiler lip (1) in between.
  5. Use the MR1 load roller from 3M™ to roll on the right front spoiler trim (2) in the bonding area from the inside outward with a press-on force of 50 N.

    IMPORTANT Rolling activates the adhesive in the tape, allowing the full adhesive power to take effect.

  6. Position the left front spoiler trim (3) and align it with the edges (arrows).

    IMPORTANT There must not be any gap between the left front spoiler trim (3) and the front apron. The bonding area must make full contact.

  7. Remove the protective foil (7) of the adhesive strip on the front spoiler lip (1) in increments of 5 cm and press the left front spoiler trim (3) onto the exposed bonding surface of the front spoiler lip (1) in between.
  8. Use the MR1 load roller from 3M™ to roll on the left front spoiler trim (3) in the bonding area from the inside outward with a press-on force of 50 N.

    IMPORTANT Rolling activates the adhesive in the tape, allowing the full adhesive power to take effect.

  9. Drill one hole each with a diameter of 4.0 mm through the bumper at the holes indicated (8) on the front spoiler lip (1) and rivet.

    IMPORTANT Before riveting, it must be ensured that the left and right front spoiler trims (2 and 3) are aligned with the center section of the front spoiler lip (1) with the aid of 2 helpers, as there will otherwise be a difference in height between the left and right front spoiler trims (2 and 3) and the center section of the front spoiler lip (1).

    IMPORTANT Rivet from the inside outward.

    IMPORTANT The rivets are included in the scope of supply.

  10. Remove the protective foil from the front spoiler lip (1).
