Converting Rear Bumper - AZ88.00-P-0001-03LWH

Model 253.9 

IMPORTANT Check components removed from standard bumper before assembly and replace if damaged.

  1. Insert and engage lower rear bumper paneling (2) into upper rear bumper paneling (1).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

    NOTES Carefully lay down painted vehicle parts. In order to prevent damage.

  2. Insert and engage center rear basic bumper bracket (3) into upper rear bumper paneling (1).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  3. Model 253.9 except code 550 (Trailer coupling)

    Insert and engage rear switch module bumper bracket (20) into lower rear bumper paneling (2).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  4. Insert and engage right center bumper bracket (4) into lower rear bumper paneling (2).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  5. Insert and engage left center bumper bracket (5) into lower rear bumper paneling (2).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  6. Insert and engage right tailpipe trim bracket (6).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  7. Secure right tailpipe trim bracket (6) with, in each case, 1 blind rivet on upper rear bumper paneling (1), on right center bumper bracket (4) and on lower rear bumper paneling (2).

    IMPORTANT Use commercially available riveter.

  8. Insert and engage left tailpipe trim bracket (7).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  9. Secure left tailpipe trim bracket (7) with, in each case, 1 blind rivet on upper rear bumper paneling (1), on left center bumper bracket (5) and on lower rear bumper paneling (2).

    IMPORTANT Use commercially available riveter.

  10. Insert and engage right wheel arch bumper bracket (8).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  11. Secure right wheel arch bumper bracket (8) with 1 expansion rivet and 1 spring clip on lower rear bumper paneling (2).

  12. Insert and engage left wheel arch bumper bracket (9).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that it is seated and arrest properly.

  13. Secure left wheel arch bumper bracket (9) with 1 expansion rivet and 1 spring clip on lower rear bumper paneling (2).

  14. Model 253.9 with code 550 (Trailer coupling) Insert lower bumper cover (10) and secure with, in each case, 1 screw on right center bumper bracket (4) and left center bumper bracket (5).
  15. Insert and screw on right tailpipe trim (11).

    IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating.

  16. Insert and screw on left tailpipe trim (12).

    IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating.

  17. Model 253.9 with code 235 (Parking Pilot with PARKTRONIC) Insert and engage parking system distance sensors (B8/7 to B8/12) in respective brackets.

    IMPORTANT Installation position is predefined by line lengths.

  18. Model 253.9 with code 238 (Active lane keeping Assist) with code 253 (Rear impact warning and protection system) Insert center rear bumper radar sensor (B92/1) in bracket.

    IMPORTANT Installation position is predefined by line length.

  19. Model 253.9 with code 234 (Blind Spot Monitoring)

    with code 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist)

    Install right outer rear bumper integrated radar sensor (B92/6) and right outer rear bumper radar sensor (B92/7).

    IMPORTANT Installation position is predefined by line lengths.

  20. Model 253.9 except code 234 (Blind Spot Monitoring)

    except code 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist)

    Install left outer rear bumper radar sensor (B92/10) and left outer rear bumper integrated radar sensor (B92/11).

    IMPORTANT Installation position is predefined by line lengths.

  21. Insert and engage left reflector (13) and right reflector (14) in upper rear bumper paneling (1).
  22. Hook check strap of towing eye cover (15) into lower rear bumper paneling (2).
  23. Insert and engage towing eye cover (15) into lower rear bumper paneling (2).
  24. Insert and engage trim strip (16) into lower rear bumper paneling (2).
