Remove/Install Boot On Propeller Shaft Of Front Axle Gear - AR41.10-P-0070-01A

Model 205 with transmission 722.96/97 

Model 205, 213, 217, 218, 222, 223, 238, 253, 290 with transmission 725.0 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) 

Model 212, 217, 218, 222 with transmission 722.96/97 

Model 253 with transmission 724.2 

REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONSBB  Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)   BB00.40-P-0266-02A

Remove 

  1. Pull universal joint (72) off propeller shaft (70).
  2. Remove dust boot (71).

    Install 

  3. Coat splined profile with long-life grease.
  4. Slide dust boot (71) with universal joint (72) onto drive shaft (70).

    IMPORTANT Pay attention to markings (arrows) for installation position.

  5. Check that dust boot (71) is seated correctly.
