1 Lift vehicle with lifting platform.

INSPECT Check     
2 Check tires of front axle for damage and crack formation.   AP40.10-P-4051EW
    If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
3 Check front axle rims for deformation, damage and crack formation. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
4 Check spring links (1) for cracks, deformation and corrosion. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
5 Check spring control arm joint boots (4) for condition, leak tightness and correct seating. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
6 Check spring control arm joints (6) for deformation and wear, then check for play by firmly pushing and pulling. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
7 Check shock absorbers (31) for fluid loss. IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

8 Check each shock absorber (31) for side play by firmly pulling and pushing. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems are determined,

9 Check damper forks (30) for cracks, deformation and wear, and also check for play relative to shock absorber elastomer bearings (11) by firmly pulling and pushing. IMPORTANT WIS Service Media

If problems are determined,

rectify the problems.

10 Check shock absorber elastomer bearings (11) for cracks, deformation and wear, then check for play by firmly pulling and pushing. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
11 Check strut rods (2) for cracks, deformation and corrosion. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
12 Check strut rod joint boots (3) for condition, leak tightness and correct seating. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
13 Check strut rod joints (5) for deformation and wear then check for play by pulling and pushing. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
14 Check torsion bar linkages for deformation and corrosion. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
15 Check lower shift rail fastenings (10) for play by firmly pushing and pulling. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
16 Check upper shift rail fastenings (9) for play by firmly pushing and pulling. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
17 Check stabilizer bushings (8a) for cracks, deformation and wear then check stabilizer bar (8) then check for play by firmly pulling and pushing. IMPORTANTIf necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

If problems are determined,

rectify the problems.

18 Check stabilizer bar (8) for cracks, deformation and corrosion. IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

19 Check tie rod ends (35) and tie rods (38) for firm connection to each other by pulling and pushing each one. If problems are determined,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
20 Check tie rod joint boots (37) of tie rod ends (35) for condition, leak tightness and correct seating. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
21 Check tie rod joints (36) for play by firmly pulling and pushing on tie rod ends (35). If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
22 Check each of the inner tie rod joints for play by firmly pulling and pushing on tie rods (38) in direction of rack-and-pinion steering. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
23 Stretch boots (40) by turning steering all the way to right and left, and check for cracks, intrusions and chafe marks. NOTES
Do not check boots (40) by pressing in or
around the raised bead.
Otherwise, the material may be damaged,
leading to leakage with consequential
damage.
IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

24 Check clamps (39) are firmly and correctly seated. NOTES
Clamps (39) may not be damaged, loose or incorrectly seated.
Otherwise this may lead to leakage with consequential damage.
IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

25 Check upper transverse control arms (25) for cracks, deformation and corrosion. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
26 Check upper transverse control arm universal joint boots (23) for condition, leak tightness and correct seating. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
27 Check upper transverse control arm joints (22) for play by pulling and pressing firmly on the upper transverse control arms (25). IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

28 Check upper transverse control arm elastomer bearings (21) for cracks, deformation then check for play by firmly pulling and pushing. IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

29 Check linkage level sensor (20) for correct seating, cracks, deformation, corrosion and play. Vehicle with level sensor linkage (20).
IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

rectify the problems.

30 Assess the wheel bearings by firmly tugging, pushing and turning at the wheels. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
31 Check steel springs (32) for fractures and correct seating in spring retainers. IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.

32 Check boots of shock absorbers (31) for correct seating and damage. IMPORTANT If necessary, use commercially available devices/tools.
