Routing diagram "Retail"
Routing diagram "Vehicle Preparation Center"
The following work procedure is described using the routing diagram "Retail".
- Route dashcam wiring harness (8) from front dashcam mount under roof lining to the left to the A-pillar.
- Fasten ferrite core (8.2) of dashcam wiring harness (8) using cable ties (arrows A) to overhead control panel mount (36).
- Use pliers through the openings (arrows H) to press shackles (arrows K) together and remove mounting clamps (4) for window airbag from A-pillar at top.
- Route the three single lines of the dashcam wiring harness (8) above the window airbag (30).
- Route the three single lines of the dashcam wiring harness (8) above the window airbag (30) up to the footwell.
Route the three individual lines of the dashcam wiring harness (8) behind the crossmember for the instrument panel.
- Position window airbag shackle and attach mounting clamps (4) for window airbag to A-pillar at top.
- Route ground line (8.10) of dashcam wiring harness to left footwell ground point (W34) and connect
- Remove violet coupling (MR2) from front SAM control unit (N10/6).
- Remove gray 21-pin connector insert from violet coupling (MR2).
- Remove line (20) from contact cavity "29" of gray 21-pin coupling insert (19).
The appropriate tool is available in the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit.
- Install line (20) in free contact cavity of blue 2-pin coupling (8.3) of dashcam wiring harness (8).
- Lock blue 2-pin coupling (8.3).
- Install line (8.8) of Y-line (8.7) into contact cavity "29" of gray 21-pin coupling insert (19).
- Install gray 21-pin coupling insert into violet connector (MR2).
- Attach violet coupling (MR2) to front SAM control unit (N10/6).
- Connect blue 2-pin coupling (8.3) of dashcam wiring harness (8) to blue 2-pin plug (8.9) of Y-line (8.7).
- Remove electrical fuse (29) from slot 207 (arrow B) of driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
The electrical fuse (29) is reused.
The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (29) is 15 A.
- Release yellow fuse holder (24) at driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
- Remove red/black line (25) from contact cavity "4" (arrow C) of yellow fuse holder (24).
The appropriate tool is available in the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit.
- Install red line (8.12) of Y-line (8.6) in contact cavity "4" (arrow C) of yellow fuse holder (24).
- Lock yellow fuse holder (24) at driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
- Install removed red/black line (25) in free contact cavity of fuse holder (8.4) of Y-line (8.6).
- Install lock (8.13) in fuse holder (8.4) (arrow D).
- Install electrical fuse (29) in fuse holder (8.4).
The electrical fuse (29) was removed beforehand. The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (29) is 15 A.
- Put both fuse holders (8.4, 8.5) of dashcam wiring harness (8) together.
- Install electrical fuse (55) included in parts kit in slot 207 (arrow B) of driver's side fuse and relay module (K40/6).
The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (55) is 25 A.
- Route branch-off line for rear dashcam of dashcam wiring harness (8) on roof lining towards rear up to center of roof lining.
Route branch-off line for rear dashcam behind mounts for front and rear grab handles (arrows E) and covers of mounting eyes for partitioning net (arrows F).
- Strap down excess lengths of dashcam wiring harness (8) in area of A-pillar.
- Fasten dashcam wiring harness (8) on roof lining using felt adhesive tape.
Shown with removed roof lining
- Remove rear roof frame cover (31).
- Open bracket (32) on left side of vehicle and remove cable duct (33).
- Remove cable duct (33) from liftgate and from rear roof frame.
- Route dashcam wiring harness (8) through opening next to trunk lid/liftgate control drive unit (M51/3) up to opening for cable duct on rear roof frame.
Use a pull-through device. Pull this through opening for cable duct on roof frame at rear up to opening next to trunk lid/liftgate control drive unit (M51/3).
Shown with removed headliner with code 890 (Automatic rear-end door)
- Route dashcam wiring harness (8) through cable duct (33) into liftgate.
- Route dashcam wiring harness (8) by dimension (a) beyond center of liftgate (line b) to the right.
Dimensions :
a = 150 mm
Use a pull-through device. Silicone spray must be applied to the cable duct (33) on the inside before routing.
- Fix dashcam wiring harness (8) in place using cable ties (arrows G).
- Attach cable duct (33).
