Remove/Install Oil Cooling System Return Line - AR27.55-P-0611OLH

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of death  when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines. AS00.00-Z-0035-01A

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove voltage of high-voltage on-board electrical system. Transmission 725.047 in model 253.353/953 with engine 274.9 AR54.10-P-1150LVH
    Transmission 725.047 in model 205.054 with engine 274.9 AR54.10-P-1150LW
2 Remove lower engine compartment paneling.
↓		 INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install lower engine compartment paneling after leak test. AR61.20-P-1105LW
3 Remove screw (11). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, oil cooler oil line clamp to oil pan *BA27.55-P-1006-01D 
4 Remove screw (7). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, clamp of oil cooler oil line to bracket *BA27.55-P-1005-01D 
5 Turn holder (8) through 90°.    
6 Remove return line (2) from holder (8).    
7 Release screw (9). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, clamp to oil line *BA27.55-P-1004-01D 
8 Turn holder (10) through 90° and remove from feed line (1) and return line (2).    
9 Remove return line (2) from torque converter housing (4) and collect escaping automatic transmission fluid.   AR27.10-P-0501-03LF

    Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
10 Remove return line (2) from oil cooler (3) and collect escaping automatic transmission fluid.   AR27.10-P-0501-03LF
    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Oil receptacle		  
    Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
11 Remove return line (2) with holder (12) towards rear.    
12 Remove O-rings from return line (2). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace O-rings.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 2
INSPECT Check     
13 Check holder (12) for damage. If damage is visible,
↓
Replace bracket (12).		  
14 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
15 Fill automatic transmission with automatic transmission fluid.   AR27.00-P-0270EWH
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
16 Perform engine test run and check torque converter housing (4) and oil cooler (3) in area of return line (2) for leak tightness.    
17 Install lower engine compartment paneling.   AR61.20-P-1105LW
