- Place piston onto
mounts (1, 4).
Place drift (2) on support (4).
- Position depth gauge (3), move it up to upper edge of piston and reset depth gauge (3) to 0 mm.
- Move depth gauge (3) up to upper edge (5) of retaining ring groove and measure and note down dimension 1.
- Place disk pack with internal plate carrier on support fixture of
support 725 589 02 31 00.
- Use the
thrust device (7) with
thrust cylinder and
drifts to subject disk pack to a force of 1600 N.
- Place depth gauge (3) on
drift (2), move it up to contact surface (6) of retaining ring and reset depth gauge (3) to 0 mm.
- Measure and note down dimension 2 between
drift (2) and
support (1).
- Determine retaining ring to be installed: Dimension 1 - dimension 2 - (center of piston travel) according to number of internal plates = retaining ring thickness
- Install retaining ring of the determined thickness.
