- Remove disk pack.
Place parallel supports (4) on the transmission housing.
- Place depth gauge (3) on
parallel gauges (4), move it up to the end face and reset depth gauge (3) to 0 mm.
- Move depth gauge (3) up to piston (10) and measure and note down dimension 1.
- Place removed disk pack (7) on
parallel gauges (6) and position on workshop press.
Make sure that the disk spring does not lie on the beveled tabs.
Otherwise the disk spring would be damaged.
- Subject disk pack (7) with
thrust device 722 589 01 31 00 (5), drifts of
thrust device 208 589 00 21 00 and
thrust cylinder to a Apply force of 500 N.
- Place depth gauge (3) on end disk (7) and reset to 0 mm.
- Move depth gauge (3) up to
parallel gauge (6) and measure and note down dimension 2.
- Install disk pack (7).
Place parallel supports (4) on the transmission housing.
- Place depth gauge (3) on
parallel gauges (4), move it up to the end face and reset depth gauge (3) to 0 mm.
- Pull disk pack (7) upwards against retaining ring (9) by hand.
- Move depth gauge (3) up to end disk (8) and measure and note down dimension 3.
- Determine shim thickness: Dimension 1 - dimension 2 = interim value
Interim value - dimension 3 = clearance
- Compare actual value with specified value from adjustment values table and set clearance using an appropriate retaining ring.
