  1. Remove adhesive residue from the seals (arrows).

  2. Model 253.9

    with code ME05 (Hybrid drive 85 kW-94 kW variant (incl. plug-in))

    Insert longitudinal member reinforcement (6) into left longitudinal frame member.

  3. Model 253.9

    with code ME05 (Hybrid drive 85 kW-94 kW variant (incl. plug-in))

    Screw in screws/bolts (4) finger-tight.

    Insert longitudinal member reinforcement (7) into right longitudinal frame member.

    Screw in screws/bolts (4) finger-tight.

  6. Remove stop plug (8) from rear center section.

    IMPORTANT The stop plug (8) is no longer required.

  7. Insert longitudinal member reinforcement (3) into right longitudinal frame member.
  8. Insert longitudinal member reinforcement (2) into left longitudinal frame member.

  9. Screw on bolt (5) for right longitudinal member reinforcement (3) finger-tight.
  10. Screw in bolt (5) of left longitudinal member reinforcement (2) finger-tight.

  11. Tighten nuts (15) finger-tight.

  12. Position cross member (1) onto longitudinal member reinforcement (2, 3) and screw on bolts (13) finger-tight.

    IMPORTANT Helper required.

  13. Align trailer hitch.

    IMPORTANT It is essential to observe the following tightening sequence.

  14. Model 253.9

    with code ME05 (Hybrid drive 85 kW-94 kW variant (incl. plug-in))

    Tighten screws/bolts (4) to specified torque TORQUE SPECIFICATION .

  17. Tighten screws/bolts (5) to specified torque TORQUE SPECIFICATION .

  18. Tighten bolts (13) at left and right to torque TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
  19. Guide trailer hitch wiring harness (20) through rear center section into vehicle interior and fit grommet provided.
