	Check
1	Operate trunk lid swivel trailer hitch button (1) or driver door swivel trailer hitch button (1a) and swivel ball neck (2) all way out.	The message "Trailer coupling swiveling" appears in the multifunction display (5). The trailer coupling indicator lamp (4) lights up and the indicator lamp on the trunk lid trailer coupling swiveling button (1) is flashing on the instrument cluster. As soon as the swivel movement ends and the trailer hitch is engaged, the message on the multifunction display (5) must disappear and the trailer hitch indicator lamp (4) must go out. The indicator lamp on the trunk lid trailer hitch swivel button (1) or driver door trailer hitch swivel button (1a) must be permanently lit. If problems are determined, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
	Remove
2	Remove cover (2b) from ball head (2a).
	Check
3	Check trailer socket (3), swivel mechanism and ball neck (2) for damage and corrosion.	If problems are determined, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
	Clean
4	Clean ball head (2a) using water and brush, and dry off using lint-free rag.	Do not use any high pressure or steam cleaning equipment nor any solvent or cleaning agent. Otherwise, the ball head (2a) may be damaged. If corrosion is found on the ball head (2a), ↓ remove corrosion using wire brush.
	Measure
5	Measure diameter of ball head (2a).	Minimum diameter of ball head If the minimum diameter of ball head (2a) is less than the specified value, ↓ rectify problem. After obtaining special order.	*BE31.11-P-1001-01A
	Grease
6	Apply light coating of grease to ball head (2a).	Inform the customer that when using trailers with an anti-swerve device whose effect is based on friction with the ball head (2a), the ball head (2a) must be degreased before the trailer is coupled. Otherwise the friction between the friction linings and the ball head (2a) is reduced, and the swerving and pitch motions are no longer suppressed. Inform the customer that after using trailers with an anti-swerve device whose effect is based on friction with the ball head (2a), the ball head (2a) must be greased again. 	Install
7	Fit cover (2b) onto ball head (2a).
	Check
8	Operate trunk lid swivel trailer hitch button (1) or driver door swivel trailer hitch button (1a) and swivel-in ball neck (2) then lock into place.	The message "Trailer coupling swiveling" appears in the multifunction display (5). The trailer coupling indicator lamp (4) lights up and the indicator lamp on the trunk lid trailer coupling swiveling button (1) is flashing on the instrument cluster. As soon as the swivel movement ends and the trailer hitch is engaged, the message on the multifunction display (5) must disappear and the trailer hitch indicator lamp (4) and the trunk lid trailer hitch swivel button (1) or driver's door trailer hitch swivel button (1a) must go out. If problems are determined, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
