Replacing Steering Shaft Boot - AR46.10-P-0621LW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Adjust steering wheel all the way forward and up.    
2 Deactivate easy entry and exit feature for steering wheel. Model 205, 253, 293 with code 275 (Driver's seat, electrically adjustable with memory function)
Model 213, 238
with code 275 (Memory Package (driver's seat, steering column and mirror))
 
3 Remove cover below instrument panel on driver's side. Model 293 AR68.10-P-1501EQ
    Model 213, 238 AR68.10-P-1501LWE
    Model 205, 253 AR68.10-P-1500LW
4 Separate steering coupling from steering shaft (2). Model 238 AR46.10-P-8000LWO
    Model 205, 213, 253, 293 AR46.10-P-8000LW 
5 Remove screw (1) and detach steering shaft (2) from steering column tube (3). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace bolt (1).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking bolt, lower steering shaft to upper steering shaft *BA46.10-P-1001-01N 
6 Unclip retaining clip (4, 5) and remove steering shaft (2) with boot (6) upwards. INSTALLATION NOTES
Make sure that the retaining clip (4, 5) are correctly engaged.
Otherwise, driver assistance systems may malfunction.
INSTALLATION NOTES The arrow (arrow B) must point towards the vehicle floor.
The retaining clip (5) must be positioned above the cutout (arrow C) and be clipped in.
 
7 Remove boot (6) from steering shaft (2) in direction of arrow. INSTALLATION NOTES
Model 205.### 2#, 213.### 2#, 238.### 2#, 253.### 2#, 293.### 2#
Mount seal all way round in area (arrow A).
Otherwise, engine noise may be heard in the vehicle interior.
IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation position.
 
    Sealing profile for maintenance access cover *BR00.45-Z-1051-01A 
8 Install in the reverse order.
