Adjust Play At Rack-And-Pinion Steering - AR46.20-P-0601-04LWE

  1. Mark adjustment screw (1) at any notch relative to steering gear housing (2) (arrow E).
  2. Using SPECIAL TOOL detaching tool, adjust previously determined play between toothed rack and thrust piece (6) through to and fro movement (1). Model 166, 218, 253, 290, 292

NOTES Always make sure that the play between the thrust piece (6) and toothed rack is only adjusted by turning the adjustment screw (1) in the screw-in direction. Otherwise the thread of the adjustment screw (1) and the rack-and-pinion steering will be damaged.

IMPORTANT Screwing the adjustment screw (1) in by one notch relative to the marking (arrow E) corresponds to a reduction in the play between the thrust piece (6) and the toothed rack of 0.03 mm.
