1. Move soft top to repair position R5.
2. 1. 2.1) Model 205.4 as of 5/1/20, 238.4 as of 5/1/20 Tensioning cable number 5

      Remove retaining clip (11).

   2. 2.2) Model 205.4 up to 5/1/20, 238.4 up to 5/1/20 Tensioning cable number 5

      Remove retaining clip (13).

3. Knock off rivet (5b) and remove rest of rivet.

   Tensioning cable (5) and tensioning cable (6) are fastened together at rivet (5b).

4. Guide tensioning cable (5) out of eyelets.

   If necessary, mark routing of tensioning cable (5).

5. Press tensioning cable (5) out of guide in roof lining using a suitable tool and cut off clamping ring (14).
6. Remove tensioning cable (5) from guide in roof lining.
7. Insert cutting wire through guide in roof lining and fasten new tensioning cable (5) at open end.

   Use a round cutting wire.

   New tensioning cable (5) has a green/red marking on ring eyelet.

8. Pull new tensioning cable (5) using cutting wire through guide in roof lining.
9. Press clamping ring (14) onto new tensioning cable (5) using a suitable tool and install in guide in roof lining.

   Press clamping ring (14) so that dimension "a" is 3.5 ± 0.5 mm and dimension "b" is 3.75 ± 0.25 mm.

10. Route new tensioning cable (5) through previously marked eyelets.

    Check tensioning cable (5) is routed correctly.

11. Rivet ring eyelet of new tensioning cable (5).

    If tensioning cable (6) is not to be replaced.

    Before riveting, ensure that tensioning cable (5) is not twisted, crossed, or offers excessive resistance.

    Otherwise the roof lining will be damaged when actuating the soft top mechanical components.
