Location

The central locking inside door handle switch (3) is located in the driver's door trim. In vehicles with USA version and/or Canada version, a central locking inside door handle switch is also located in the front passenger door trim. Depending on the vehicle model (e.g. model 213, 238, 257, 290, 293), a central locking inside door handle switch is also installed on the front passenger side in other national versions.

Both central locking inside door handle switches have an identical design.

Task

Via the central locking inside door handle switch, the locking/unlocking of the central locking system can be triggered and the automatic locking/unlocking activated and deactivated.

Function

The respective front door control unit reads in the status of the relevant central locking switch and actuates the integrated indicator lamp.
