Remove/Install Front Door Beltline Trim - AR72.10-P-1036MFA

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove door trim.   AR72.10-P-6575MFA 
2.1 Drill plastic spot welds (3). If armrest (2) has been plastics welded.
NOTES
Observe drilling and cutting depth.
Armrest (2) or beltline trim (1) can otherwise be damaged by drilling through.
IMPORTANT Operate cordless drill/driver with spot facer for cutting out plastic spot welds (3) at high drilling speed and low operating speed. Aim for an undercut of up to 2 mm in order to ensure sufficient preload.
Use spot facer, M4 according to DIN 373 with head diameter 8 mm and pin diameter 3.3 mm.
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Cordless drill/screwdriver
If plastic flowed into the plastic spot welds (3) during welding,

redrill plastic spot welds (3) with a drill bit Ø 3.5 mm.
 
2.2 Remove screws from plastic spot welds (3). If armrest (2) has been screwed on.  
3 Release catch hooks (4) and remove beltline trim (1) from armrest (2).    
INSTALLING Install     
4 Position beltline trim (1) on armrest (2) and clip in catch hooks (4).    
5 Screw beltline trim (1) onto plastic spot welds (3). IMPORTANT The number of screws required corresponds to the number of plastic spot welds drilled (3).  
6 Install door paneling.   AR72.10-P-6575MFA
