During installation, install valve stem seals (5) with grey seal at exhaust side and with black seal at intake side.

Use pliers (07) to pull off valve stem seals (5).
Check valve stems for formation of burrs and pitting.
If ridging is detected on valve stems:

Deburr valve stems.

If pitting is detected on valve stems:

↓

Replace valves.
Fit protective sleeve onto the valve stem.

Coat valve stem seals (5) with engine oil.
During installation, install valve stem seals (5) with grey seal at exhaust side and with black seal at intake side.

Install the valve stem seals (5) without a double lip (picture A) on the intake side and the valve stem seals (5) with a double lip (picture B) on the exhaust side.
Press valve stem seals (5) with drift (08) up to the end stop.
Remove protective sleeve from the valve stem.
