Remove Fuel Distributor With Injection Valves - AR07.03-P-1450MFG

MODIFICATION NOTES

16.08.2021 Screw in screws (20) by hand until the brackets make contact and then tighten screws (20). Operation step 9.

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by fuel spraying out at high pressure Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.
Do not carry out any work on system when it is pressurized.

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove low-pressure line (5).   AR07.03-P-1120MFG 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Do not install upper engine 'cover until after the leak test.  
2 Remove electrical wiring harness (12) from bracket (14) and from bleed line (15). NOTES
Do not kink, subject lines to tension. Otherwise damage will occur.
 
3 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (19).    
4 Remove electrical wiring harness (13) from charge-air distributor (16). NOTES
Do not kink, subject lines to tension. Otherwise damage will occur.
 
5 Remove screws (17) and remove bleed line (15). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace seals.
Check seals are correctly seated.
Do not coat connections with grease.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6x1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
6 Opening on the charge-air distributor (16) with suitable stop plug. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
7 Seal opening on the cylinder head cover with a lint-free rag.    
8 Clean working area and blow out with compressed air. Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
9 Remove bolts (20). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Screw in screws (20) by hand until the brackets make contact and then tighten screws (20).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, fuel distributor to cylinder head *BA07.52-P-1002-01H 
10 Pull out fuel distributor (2) with the injection valves (Y62/13, Y62/14, Y62/15, Y62/16).    
11 Seal openings in cylinder head with suitable stop plugs. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
12 Unclip retaining clamps (1) using suitable tool. When replacing fuel distributor (2) and/or injection valves (Y62/13, Y62/14, Y62/15, Y62/16).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Retaining clamps (1) must engage in square guide (arrow).
 
13 Remove injection valves (Y62/13, Y62/14, Y62/15, Y62/16) from fuel distributor (2) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. When replacing fuel distributor (2) and/or injection valves (Y62/13, Y62/14, Y62/15, Y62/16).

14 Remove sealing rings (4). INSTALLATION NOTES
When wetting the sealing rings (4), ensure that no lubricant gets onto the valve tip and inside the valve.
Otherwise damage will occur.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings (4) and moisten lightly with lubricant.
 
    Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
15 Remove sealing rings (3). When replacing fuel distributor (2) and/or injection valves (Y62/13, Y62/14, Y62/15, Y62/16).
INSTALLATION NOTES
When wetting the sealing rings (3), ensure that no lubricant gets onto the valve tip and inside the valve.
Otherwise damage will occur.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings (3) and moisten lightly with lubricant.
 
    Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
16 Install in the reverse order.    
17 Read out and delete fault memory.    
DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
18 Perform engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
19 Install upper engine cover.
