Relieve Fuel Pressure Using Diagnostic System - AR07.00-P-0003-01MFA

Engine 139, 260, 282 in model 118, 177, 247 

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A

  1. Connect diagnostic device, start XENTRY, and shut off the fuel pump.

    IMPORTANT

    To do this, select the following menu items:

    → ME-SFI control unit

    → Actuation

    → Actuate and shut off fuel pump.

  2. Connect exhaust gas hose.
  3. Start engine, operate at idle speed, and wait until the engine shuts off by itself.

    NOTES Operate engine only at idle speed and do not increase engine speed by accelerating under any circumstances.

    The fuel system may be damaged otherwise.

  4. Disconnect exhaust gas hose.
  5. Disconnect diagnostic unit.
