Do not install alcohol breathalyzer in airbag deployment area or in possible occupant contact area.
Assembly notes:
- Secure attachment of the alcohol breathalyzer must be ensured during installation.
- Safety-relevant switches may not be covered up by the installation of the alcohol breathalyzer (e.g.: hazard warning light).
- Install components of alcohol breathalyzer in lockable stowage compartments where possible (e.g.: center console, glove compartment).
- Install components of alcohol breathalyzer so that driver is not impaired/hindered when driving.
- Install hand unit of alcohol breathalyzer so that there are no unsecured electric lines in driver footwell.
Diagnosis:
- The function of the alcohol breathalyzer must be activated using the diagnostic system after installation.
- An "After-Sales Standard" secure onboard communication authorization is required for activation.
- The alcohol breathalyzer is activated in the EZS control unit.
