48 V battery  No external charging
48 V starter battery is internally supported by the 12 V on-board electrical system.
Before non-operational time and every month:
If the state of charge (SOC) of the 48 V battery is < 30 %, then the 12 V battery must be charged until the 48 V battery has an SOC value of min.
50 %.3
Before non-operational time and every month:
If the state of charge (SOC) of the 48 V battery is < 30 %, then the 12 V battery must be charged until the 48 V battery has an SOC value of min.

1  Exceptions:

NOTE: 2 The non-operational time must be deducted from ASSYST manually because the service computer cannot operate without voltage.
NOTE: 3 The state of charge of the 48 V battery can be read out via the workshop menu in the instrument cluster.

In the case of new vehicles, make sure that transport mode is activated, i.e.until the delivery inspection immediately prior to handover to the customer.

Transport mode can be reactivated (after service in the showroom) up to 350 km. Before activation, the vehicle with connected 12 volt battery must be charged. Exceptions hereto are vehicles of model 453. Here, activation is no longer possible.
