Information on painting PARKTRONIC system sensors

PARKTRONIC sensors are to be painted in the corresponding vehicle color if

PARKTRONIC sensors whose part number does not end with 9999 or if additional information 420 is not present must not  be painted.

To ensure the ultrasonic function, the paint thickness on the PARKTRONIC sensors must be at least 70 μm up to a maximum of 120 μm.

Deviating paint thicknesses will cause the diaphragm to detune, thereby causing everything from measurement accuracy issues up to system failure.

All approved materials and paint partners are stored in the After-Sales Portal https://xentry.daimler.com  under the "Paint Technology" category.
