When removing/installing the pneumatic springs that are not free of tension, injuries to body parts may occur through cutting, pinching or crushing.
Safety instructions/precautions
- Only remove and install a pneumatic spring in its untensioned position (thrust or push rod completely extended).
- Support or secure the components held by the pneumatic spring (flaps, doors, cover, seat frame, etc.) in position using suitable means prior to removal of the pneumatic spring.
- Replace damaged retaining clips or clasps.
- Secure the operating area of mechanical components against interference when parts are in motion.
