WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG, 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLA35 AMG, 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLA250, 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG, and 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA35 AMG. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Engine 156, 166, 260, 266, 270, 271, 272, 273, 274, 282

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A

Engine 156, 166, 260, 266, 270, 271, 272, 273, 274, 282

  1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
  2. Allow engine oil to drain into a provided oil container.

    IMPORTANT

When oil filler cap is opened and engine is at operating temperature.

  3. Place oil container on a scales and weigh.
  4. Note engine oil mass in kg and kilometer reading for the vehicle.
  5. Pour engine oil into the engine.
  6. Install remaining parts.
  7. Perform measurement run.

    IMPORTANT

Perform a measuring drive over a measurement distance of 250 km (if measurement carried out by workshop personnel) or 1, 000 km (if measurement carried out by customer). If the measurement is conducted by the workshop personnel, take into account the operating conditions of the vehicle at the customer's.

  8. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
  9. Allow engine oil to drain into a provided oil container.

    IMPORTANT

When oil filler cap is opened and engine is at operating temperature.

  10. Place oil container on a scales and weigh.
  11. Note engine oil mass in kg and kilometer reading for the vehicle.
  12. Pour engine oil into the engine.
  13. Determine differential mass and measurement distance.

    IMPORTANT

The difference in mass is calculated by subtracting the engine oil mass after the measuring drive from the oil mass before the measuring drive.

  14. Calculate measurement distance.

    IMPORTANT

The measurement distance is calculated by subtracting the kilometer reading before the measuring drive from the kilometer reading after the measuring drive.

  15. Calculate oil consumption in "l" per 1000 km.

    IMPORTANT

    (Differential mass in kg x 1000 km)/(measurement distance in km x 0.85 kg/l) = oil consumption in liter "l" per 1000 km.

  16. Install remaining parts.
