Engine All

When using engine oil conforming to Specifications for Operating Fluids, sheet 229.5, the oil change interval can be extended. The increase in service intervals is only permissible when engine oil in accordance with Specifications for Operating Fluids, sheet 229.5 and oil filters approved by Mercedes-Benz are used. Only then is the longest service interval to be confirmed. Confirmation is conducted in the service menu of the instrument cluster by means of the steering wheel buttons or, alternatively, using Star Diagnosis/Xentry. To do this, select the oil 229.5 and confirm.

Vehicles without ASSYST or without ASSYST PLUS

On vehicles without ASSYST or without ASSYST PLUS the oil change interval increases from 15, 000 km to 20, 000 km.

Vehicles with ASSYST

In vehicles with ASSYST, the interval can be extended by a factor of 1.3 using the STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system.

As of model refinement, extension of the intervals for these vehicles is also possible with the instrument cluster.

Vehicles with ASSYST PLUS

For vehicles with ASSYST PLUS, extension of the intervals is performed through the instrument cluster.
Alternatively the intervals can also be extended using the STAR DIAGNOSIS system.

If this is not done, the shorter service interval will be stored automatically.
