General 

The rear window glass breakage sensor (1) is integrated in the rear window.

The rear glass breakage sensors on the left and right (2, 3) are integrated in the rear side windows.

Function 

The glass breakage sensor consists of conductor tracks that are vacuum-metalized onto the respective window. If the resistance value for the conductor tracks rises above a specific value, an alarm is issued. The status of the glass breakage sensor is evaluated by the control unit of the anti-theft alarm system. Glass breakage sensors are usually installed in the rear window. Crewbuses as well as 2-door coupes and SUVs are often equipped with glass breakage sensors in the rear fixed side windows in addition.
