Adjust Engine Hood - AR88.40-P-3020MFA

  Adjust in lateral direction     
2 Loosen nuts (4) on hood catch upper section (5). IMPORTANT Loosen nuts (4) so that the engine hood catch top section (5) can be moved in the transverse direction for adjustment of the engine hood (1).  
3 Loosen nuts (3) on left or right hinge (2) and adjust hood (1) in transverse direction. Model 177 Model 247 AR60.00-P-0700-01MFA

4 Tighten nuts (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, hood hinge to hood *BA88.40-P-1003-01F 
5 Tighten nuts (4) on hood catch upper section (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, engine hood catch upper part to engine hood *BA88.40-P-1002-01F 
  Adjust in longitudinal direction     
6 Loosen nuts (3) on left or right hinge (2) and adjust hood (1) in longitudinal direction. Model 177 Model 247 AR60.00-P-0700-01MFA
    Model 118 IMPORTANT Make adjustments to the left and right hinges (2) only one after the other, as the hood (1) will be displaced in transverse direction otherwise. AR60.00-P-0700-01MFC

7 Tighten nuts (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, hood hinge to hood *BA88.40-P-1003-01F 
  Adjust height at rear     
8 Remove rear section of front fender liner.   AR88.10-P-1301MFA 
9 Loosen screws (6) on left or right hinge (2) and adjust height of hood (1) such that there is a flush transition to the left or right fender IMPORTANT The contour of the hood (1) must be flush with the contour of the fenders or may protrude by a maximum of 1 mm.
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.		  
10 Tighten screws (6) on left or right hinge (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, hood hinge to body *BA88.40-P-1004-01F 
  Adjust height at front     
11 Screw the stop buffers (7) all the way down.    
12 Loosen screws (8) on engine hood catch lower part (9) and adjust height of hood (1) in relation to bumper. IMPORTANT The contour of the hood (1) must be flush with the contour of the bumper edge or may protrude by a maximum of 1 mm.  
13 Tighten screws (8) on engine hood catch lower part (9). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, engine hood catch lower section to radiator crossmember *BA88.40-P-1001-01F 
14 Screw the stop buffers (7) up until the hood (1) makes contact with the stop buffers (7) when closed. IMPORTANT Install the engine hood (1) with the stop buffers (7) with slight distortion to prevent vibration.
Ensure that the engine hood (1) is not tilted due to unequal adjustment of the stop buffers (7).		  
  Concluding tasks     
15 Repair bolt heads with touch-up paint pen.

16 Protect areas around left or right hinge (2) against corrosion. Teroson multi-wax spray art. no. 119.48M *BR00.45-Z-1009-05A
