IMPORTANT

A helper is required to install rear spoiler (1).

  1. Position rear spoiler (1) on trunk lid (2) and mark position with adhesive tapes (3).

    IMPORTANT

Ensure that distance between rear spoiler (1) and outer sides of trunk lid (2) is uniform.

  2. Cut adhesive tapes (3) in gap between rear spoiler (1) and trunk lid (2).

NOTES When cutting tapes (3), ensure that surface of rear spoiler (1) and trunk lid (2) is not damaged.

Otherwise this could lead to visual impairment of the component surfaces or corrosion on the trunk lid (2).

  3. Remove rear spoiler (1).
  4. Clean trunk lid (2) in bonding area.

NOTES The bonding area on the trunk lid (2) must be free of dust and grease.

  6. Fix protective foils (1.1, 1.2, 1.3) in place with tape on outer side of rear spoiler (1).
  7. Carefully lay rear spoiler (1) down on trunk lid (2), align according to previously attached adhesive strips (3) and press on direction of travel.
  8. Remove protective foils (1.1) in increments of approx.150 mm.

    IMPORTANT

Remove protective foils (1.1) vertically downwards at an angle of 90°. In the interim, repeatedly press on rear spoiler (1).

  9. Remove protective foils (1.2) in increments, in sections of in each case approx. 150 mm.

    IMPORTANT

Remove protective foils (1.2) in direction of travel at an angle of 90°. In the interim, repeatedly press on rear spoiler (1).

  10. Carefully remove protective foils (1.3) in succession in lateral direction.
  11. Slightly press on rear spoiler (1) in area of side bondings.
  12. Remove adhesive tape (3).
  13. Firmly press on rear spoiler (1) with clean cotton rag toward outside starting at center of spoiler.

NOTES When pressing on, press directly on adhesive strips on spoiler (1). The maximum adhesive strength is only reached after approx. 72 h at 20°C. Avoid any contact with moisture (e.g. rain, fog, frost, washing facility) or any mechanical stress within the first 24 h.

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
