Remove/Install Coolant Pump - AR20.10-P-1271MFG

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.		 AS20.00-Z-0001-01A 
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain off coolant. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install lower engine compartment paneling after leak test. AR20.00-P-1142MFG 
2 Remove charge-air distributor. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Do not install upper engine cover until after the leak test. AR09.41-P-8683MFG
3 Remove coolant line (2) and seal openings with protective covers. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seal.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Install new clamps (13) and hose (14).

Ear clamp pliers		 AR20.20-P-7471-01MFG 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Clamp, coolant pump to coolant hose/coolant line *BA20.10-P-1016-01AC 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Clamp, coolant hose/coolant line from coolant pump to connecting point *BA20.10-P-1017-01AC 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, coolant line to coolant pipe/cylinder head/crankcase/coolant thermostat/coolant hose/timing case *BA20.10-P-1008-01AC 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, coolant pump to coolant hose/coolant line *BA20.10-P-1009-01AC 
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective covers Fig 3

4 Unscrew screw (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, coolant pump to coolant hose/coolant line *BA20.10-P-1009-01AC 
5 Release and disconnect coolant line (1) and seal exposed openings with protective covers   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ

6 Remove coolant line (1) and seal openings with protective covers. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace clamp.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seal.		 AR20.20-P-7471-01MFG

7 Remove coolant hose (6) from the coolant inlet connection (3) and seal openings with protective covers.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ

8 Remove screw (8) and place bleed line (9) carefully to one side. TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6x1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
9 Remove screws (10) and remove coolant inlet connection (3). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seal.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, coolant inlet fitting to coolant pump housing		 *BA20.10-P-1014-01AC 
10 Unscrew screws (11) and remove coolant pump (12). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seals.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, water pump to coolant housing		 *BA20.10-P-1015-01AC 
11 Clean sealing surfaces of coolant pump (12) and coolant inlet fitting (3). NOTES
Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.
Assembly cleaner		 *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
12 Install in the reverse order.    
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
13 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
14 Install lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105MFR
15 Install upper engine cover.
