New Repair Method For Weld Stud Threads On Body-In-White Service Information - Si60.00-P-0019A

Due to constant improvement to our quality standards we would hereby like to point to a new weld stud repair solution on body-in-white.

Repair solution for weld studs 

Material: 

1x repair bolt plate with various thread types A 000 991 74 02, A 000 991 75 02, A 000 991 76 02, A 253 630 60 02

1x 2-component body adhesive A 012 989 17 71 09 or A 000 989 20 06 09.

Application area: 

On all basic materials ground down to bare metal on the body-in-white, e.g. steel, aluminum, cast aluminum

Purpose: 

For all component parts that are bolted to the body-in-white using a bolt.

Preparation: 

1. Grind bonding area down to bare metal.
2. Adapt/align bolt plate on body-side contact surface.
3. If there is a hole in the body-in-white due to a broken off or missing old bolt, the seal is made using adhesive (separate sealing is not necessary).
4. To achieve a high adhesive quality, please observe the processing instructions before bonding.
5. After the adhesive has hardened, reproduce paintwork structure and anti-corrosion protection as per manufacturer's specifications.

   

   The repair method does not apply for the attachment of ground bolts. This repair method is not valid for component parts of the restraint systems such as the control unit, actuators, sensors. Please contact your MBC for this type of use.
