Handling Lead-Free Filling Solder Service Information - Si60.00-Z-0014A
Model all (4xWD, CAR, Heavy transporter, Light transporter)
Please remember that a ban on using leaded materials on vehicles which were put into service after 01.06.2003 was introduced as part of the European end-of-life vehicle directive (2000/53/EC). For this reason, it is no longer permitted to use leaded body solder on these vehicles.
Handling unleaded body solder
Owing to the narrow temperature window of unleaded body solder, the possible applications compared to leaded body solder are limited. The use of unleaded body solder is suitable for approved repair methods, e.g. the filling of transitions or seams in the case of welded-in or MIG-soldered parts.
The time required for operations involving unleaded body solder is already taken into consideration in the respective operation items.
