Dynamic Select Function - GF32.00-P-0002RD
Model 172.4 with code B59 (DYNAMIC SELECT)
DYNAMIC SELECT function
The DYNAMIC SELECT function integrates essential vehicle systems that determine the driving experience. This affects the electric steering, the adaptive damping system (with code 483 (ADVANCED AGILITY package)), the ECO start/stop function and the drive train of the vehicle. Here, the characteristics of the throttle response, vehicle-speed dependent support of the steering, shift points of the automatic transmission and accelerator pedal curve are affected, amongst other things, for manual transmissions. In addition, the ECO start/stop function can be activated or deactivated in the "Individual transmission mode". The following transmission modes are available:
- "Eco"
- "Comfort"
- "Sport"
- "Sport+"
- "Individual"
The driver can choose between the different preconfigured transmission modes and an "individual transmission mode" via the DYNAMIC SELECT button (N72/1s24). The driver uses the DYNAMIC SELECT button to select the required transmission mode and receives operation feedback in the instrument cluster (A1) as well as in the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8).
The signal from the DYNAMIC SELECT button is read in by the upper control panel control unit (N72/1). The upper control panel control unit sends the signal via the instrument panel LIN (LIN 1), the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1), chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1), the ME-SFI control unit (with gasoline engine) (N3/10) or the CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) and the drive train CAN (CAN C) to the fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4). The fully integrated transmission control unit places the information for the selected transmission mode on the drive train CAN. The control units relevant for the new transmission mode receive the information and switch to the stored parameters for the particular transmission mode. The preconfigured parameters are listed in the following table.
| "Eco" | "Comfort" | "Sport" | "Sport+" | "Individual" | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Valid basic settings will be made for the chosen transmission mode each time there is a transmission mode change. As a result, the basic settings of the chosen transmission mode override the current settings.
As the ESP® OFF function is not part of the DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes, the setting is not affected by a change of transmission mode.
