	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
		While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surfaces of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.
1	Cut hole in left or right side luggage compartment lining	When making the cut, pay attention to the electrical and hydraulic lines routed under the side luggage compartment lining. Otherwise the electrical and hydraulic lines could be damaged. To gain access to the upper shock absorber mount (1). The side luggage compartment lining is perforated at this position. : Suitable grommets to seal cut-out hole, see EPC.
2	Detach upper shock absorber mounting (1)	Counterhold piston rod of shock absorber (75), otherwise the shock absorber (75) may be damaged. The vehicle must be on its wheels for removing the upper shock absorber mount (1).

3	Remove rear wheels		AP40.10-P-4050V
4	Remove track control arm shield (72c).
5	Detach shock absorber (75) from spring control arm and remove		*BA32.25-P-1003-03A
6	Check shock absorber (75)	Model 171	AR32.25-P-0121V
		Model 172	AR32.25-P-0121CW
7	Install in the reverse order	: When tightening the bolts and nuts the vehicle wheels must be on the ground.
