Observe the assembly specifications and safety information from the manufacturer of the
engine hoist (01).
Otherwise assembly errors and damage can occur.

- 1.1 Model 172 with engine 276 Pull out front engine cover in upward direction.
- 1.2 Model 172 with engine 276 Unclip wiring harness from left longitudinal member.
- 1.3 Model 172 with engine 152 Remove air filter housing upward.
- 1.4 Model 171 with engine 272 Remove hose (1)
- 1.5 Model 172 with engine 274 Remove upper engine cover.
- 1.6 Model 172 with engine 274
Detach oil reservoir of power steering and place to one side with lines still connected.
- Mount preassembled
engine lifting device (01) onto suspension strut towers and longitudinal members.
When mounting the
engine lifting device (01), ensure that in the area of the longitudinal members suspension and strut towers no lines or hoses are pinched and that the paint work is not damaged.
Adjust the engine hoist (01) and tighten the bolted connections.
- Attach lifting device (2) to front lifting eye of engine.
- Tighten clamping bolt (3) and raise engine far enough to relieve the front engine mount.
