Remove/Install Wheel And Tire Assemblies - AR40.10-P-1102A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Raise vehicle.   AR00.60-P-1006A
2.1 Remove wheel trim. If installed.  
2.2 Remove screw-on AMG hub covers in center lock design. If installed.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Socket wrench bit Fig 2
3 Remove wheel and tire assemblies (1). NOTES
Model 205, 213, 217, 222, 253, 290, 293 with code B07 (Ceramic brake system)
For vehicles with ceramic brake disk (4), always
use a wheel lift dolly (3).
Otherwise, the ceramic brake disk (4) will be damaged.
IMPORTANTOnly for GERMANY ONLY
Use a wheel lift dolly (3) with a rim size from 17
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools

INSPECT Check     
4 Check the wheel bolt connection components. IMPORTANT Before mounting a wheel and tire assembly (1), remove minor soiling using a rag. Apply heat-resistant lubricating paste sufficiently on wheel hub.
Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20		 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
    If problems occur,
↓
clean wheel bolt connection components and protect against corrosion.		 AR40.10-P-1100-02A 
    If enough soiling is present,
↓
carry out further cleaning and anti-corrosion protection measures.		 AR40.10-P-1100-02A

REFER TO MAINTENANCE		 Check tires of wheel and tire assemblies (1) for wear and damage.   AP40.10-P-4051EW 
6 Check manufacturing date of tires on front and rear axle. Model 222
with code Z07 (Top protection)		 AR40.10-P-0002-01LF
INSTALLING Install     
7 Mount wheel and tire assemblies (1). NOTES
Model 205, 213, 217, 222, 253, 290, 293
with code B07 (Ceramic brake system)
For vehicles with ceramic brake disk (4), always use a wheel lift dolly (3).
Otherwise, the ceramic brake disk (4) will be damaged.
IMPORTANTOnly for GERMANY ONLY
Use a wheel lift dolly (3) with a rim size from 17

Torsion bar		  
    IMPORTANT Use torsion bar (5) for 2nd stage (initial torque).
IMPORTANT Observe tightening sequence (A, B, C, D, E and the multistage tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

8.1 Mount wheel trim. If installed.
NOTES
Check for firm seating of wheel trim on rim and for correct positioning of wheel trim relative to valve.
Otherwise, the wheel trim will be lost or the valve will be damaged.		  
8.2 Mount screw-on AMG hub covers in center lock design. If installed.

9 Check tire pressure on wheel and tire assemblies (1). In the event of a problem,

correct tire pressure on wheel and tire assemblies (1).		 AP40.15-P-4061A 
10 Lower vehicle.   AR00.60-P-1006A
11 Check maximum speed limitation in instrument cluster, correct if necessary.
Limited maximum speed for winter tires with speed index V		 IMPORTANT Note tire speed rating.
If the maximum permissible speed of an M+S tire is lower than the maximum permissible speed of the vehicle.
