Parking System Control Unit Component Description - GF54.65-P-5002RD
Model 172.4 up to model year 2017
with code 230 (Advanced Parking Guidance)
Shown on model 172.4
Location
The parking system control unit is located on the equipment rack in the trunk.
Tasks
The parking system control unit is responsible for the following tasks:
- Control of systems
- Reading in of sensors
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components Control of systems
The parking system control unit controls the Parking Guidance functions.
Reading in of sensors
The input factors are read in over the following connections:
- Direct line
- Chassis CAN (CAN E)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via a direct line:
- Left front outer parking system distance sensor (B8/1)
- Left front center parking system distance sensor (B8/2)
- Left front inner parking system distance sensor (B8/3)
- Right front inner parking system distance sensor (B8/4)
- Right front center parking system distance sensor (B8/5)
- Right front outer parking system distance sensor (B8/6)
- Outer right rear parking system distance sensor (B8/7)
- Inner right rear parking system distance sensor (B8/8)
- Inner left rear parking system distance sensor (B8/9)
- Outer left rear parking system distance sensor (B8/10)
Chassis CAN
The following information is read-in over chassis CAN:
- Provided by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1):
- Status of electric parking brake from electric parking brake control unit (N128)
- Data of light sensor (B38/1) (without code 345 (Windshield wipers with rain sensor))
- Data of rain/light sensor (B38/2) (with code 345 (Windshield wipers with rain sensor))
- Parking system button status (N72/1s8)
- Status of backup lamp switch (S16/2) (with transmission 716)
- Provided by the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4):
- Signals from left front axle RPM sensor (L6/1)
- Signals from right front axle RPM sensor (L6/2)
- Signals from left rear axle RPM sensor (L6/3)
- Signals from right rear axle RPM sensor (L6/4)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following line:
- Direct line
Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Rear parking system warning indicator (A44/3)
- Instrument panel parking system warning indicator (A44/4)
- Parking system distance sensors
