Location 

The overhead control panel control unit is located at top center of the windshield frame.

The overhead control panel control unit has the following tasks:

• Read in sensors and signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 
• Display of information 

Read in sensors and signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Wiper/inside rearview mirror LIN (LIN 2) 

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read in via a direct line:

• Interior temperature sensor with integrated fan (N70b1)
• Interior lamp automatic door system switch
• Left front reading lamp switch
• Right front reading lamp switch
• MAGIC SKY CONTROL button (with code 412 (Vario roof in glass version))
• Anti-theft alarm system/emergency call system button group (with code 882 (Interior monitoring) or as of 01.03.2016 with code 351 (Emergency call system (HERMES)) or up to 29.02.2016 with code 359 (TELEAID emergency call system) or with code 348 (Emergency call/assist system))

The interior lamp automatic door system switch has the following positions: Interior lights On, automatic door system On, automatic door system Off.

Wiper/inside rearview mirror LIN 

The overhead control panel control unit reads in the requests via wiper/inside rearview mirror LIN.

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated.

Actuation of components 

The following components are actuated via a direct line:

• Left interior/reading lamp
• Right interior/reading lamp
• Left overhead control panel LED
• Right overhead control panel LED
• Left sun visor mirror lamp (E14/1) via the left front mirror lamp switch (S101) (with code 876 (Interior lights package))
• Right sun visor mirror lamp (E14/2) via the right front mirror lamp switch (S102) (with code 876 (Interior lights package))
• Left A-pillar exit lamp (E11/6) (with code 876 (Interior lights package))
• Right A-pillar exit lamp (E11/7) (with code 876 (Interior lights package))
• Anti-theft alarm system/emergency call system button group (with code 882 (Interior monitoring) or as of 01.03.2016 with code 351 (Emergency call system (HERMES)) or up to 29.02.2016 with code 359 (TELEAID emergency call system) or with code 348 (Emergency call/assist system))

Display of information 

The overhead control panel control unit issues information via wiper/inside rearview mirror LIN.
