Separate Rear Cross Member, Spare Tire Well And Longitudinal Member Connection Element - Ar64.20-P-1200-01V
The following operation steps are shown on model 171.
- Expose spot welds on end plate (1) and rear wheel well (areas A, AA, B, C, D and E).
- Cut out spot welds on end plate (1) and rear wheel well (areas A, AA, B, C and D).
Cut out spot welds on rear wheel well from opposite side (areas C and D).
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm spot welds in end plate (1) and rear wheel well (area E).
- Remove damaged end panel (1)
- Coarsely mark longitudinal member connection (2) and cut (area F).
Do not too deeply. Otherwise the longitudinal member connection reinforcement (2) below can be damaged.
- Expose spot welds on spare wheel well (4) and cut out (areas G and H).
- Expose spot welds on spare wheel well (4) and cut out (areas 1 and J).
- Expose spot welds on spare wheel well (4) and longitudinal member connection (2) and cut out (area K).
- Expose spot welds on rear cross member (3) and cut out (areas L and M).
- Remove rear cross member (3), spare wheel well and longitudinal member connection.
- Mark separating point on longitudinal member connection (2) and cut (area N).
Do not too deeply. Otherwise the longitudinal member connection reinforcement (2) below can be damaged.
- Expose spot welds on longitudinal member connection (2) (areas O, Q, Q1, P, R, S and T).
- Cut out spot welds on longitudinal member connection (2) (areas O, Q, Q1 , S and T).
- Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in longitudinal member connection (2) (areas P and R).
- Remove remaining piece from longitudinal member connection elements (2).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flange with zinc dust paint.
