1. Place padding (8) on positioning device (1) at ends of B-pillars.

   The padding (8) on the positioning device (1) serves as support for the positioning device (1) and facilitates locating the Vario roof.

2. Install positioning device (1) with aid of helper on both main bearings (2) and windshield crossmember (3).

   The positioning device (1) should make contact with the padding (8). Engage in cutout (arrow A) on windshield crossmember (3) and the side padding (arrows B) must be in contact with the windshield crossmember (3) without gaps.

3. Tighten knurled screws (4) in threaded holes (arrows C).

4. Center Vario with positioning device (1) with left and right adjustment screw (5).

   Tighten adjustment screws (5) slightly. Otherwise the rear fenders can be damaged.

   The left and right scales on the positioning device (1) should indicate the same value.

5. Tighten bolts (6) on left and right center pillar (7).

   Observe specified tightening torque.

   Ensure that compensation elements on Vario roof main bearing and body make contact.

   The bolts (9) on the left and right rear main bearing mount (11) are tightened later.

6. Remove positioning device (1) with padding (8).
