Remove/install overhead control panel control unit - AR82.20-P-1000W

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Carry out initial startup of overhead control panel control unit (N70) using Star Diagnosis When installing new overhead control panel control unit (N70).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2 Open Vario roof    
3 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit IMPORTANT KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless-Go.  
4 Unclip covering (1) downwards (arrow A) SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 3
5 Unclip panel (2) IMPORTANT On vehicles with code (882) Interior monitoring (only with ATA [EDW]), the anti-theft alarm system/emergency call system button group is installed in the panel (2). In this case, let the cover (2) with the anti-theft alarm system/emergency call system button group hang down with connected electrical lines.  
6 Swivel left and right sun visor (3) to one side    
7 Remove counter bearing on left and right sun visor (3) SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 2
8 Detach left and right lining on inside of A-pillar (4) from overhead control panel control unit (N70) SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 2
9 Open glasses compartment (5) and remove screws/bolts (6)    
10 Unclip overhead control panel control unit (N70) from retaining spring (7) SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 2
11 Disconnect electric connectors (8) from overhead control panel control unit (N70) IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (8) depends on the vehicle equipment.  
12 Install in the reverse order
