| 1 | Remove paneling (2) from Vario roof front section (1) | Figure | |
| 2 | Move Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) to intermediate position | Leave ignition switched on. The Vario roof remains in this position for approx. 7 min. in the stop mode. After 7 min. the Vario roof either moves under its own weight toward the front or retracts automatically into the trunk. The stop mode can be increased by momentarily actuating the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) for another 7 minutes. |

| 7 | Expose electrical and hydraulic lines (6) on Vario roof front section (1) | ||

| 9 | Remove locks (8) | AR77.33-P-3400W | |
| 10 | Unscrew bolts (10) and remove together with threaded bushings (11) | Press bolts (10) toward center of vehicle when unscrewing. Otherwise the side seals on the Vario roof front section (1) can be damaged. Helper required to hold Vario roof front section (1). |
