Remove/install paneling on rear center section - AR68.30-P-4785RK

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
IMPORTANT Notes on sensor system for trunk lid opening/closing   AH80.61-P-0001-01A
INSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open trunk lid    
2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key (A8/1) or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button (S2/3) from electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) IMPORTANT KEYLESS-GO start/stop button (S2/3) only with code (889) KEYLESS-GO.  
3 Remove trunk floor paneling (5)    
4 Remove spare tire well panel    
5 Unscrew nuts (4)    
6 Positioning trunk lid to assembly position IMPORTANT Do not open trunk lid completely. Actuate vario roof (S84s1) only until the rear side windows are lowered approx. half way.
Do not install support.
 
7 Remove cover (1) from striker SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Figure
8 Remove rear center section paneling (2) IMPORTANT Unclip clips (3) from rear center section.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that rear center section paneling (2) is seated correctly below seal on rear center section.
 
9 Disconnect electrical connector from trunk socket (X58/4)    
10 Disconnect electrical connector from charger feed power outlet (X58/23) Vehicles with CODE 675 (preinstallation for battery charger)  
11 Remove rear center section paneling (2)    
12 Open trunk lid    
13 Remove trunk socket (X58/4) When replacing rear center section paneling (2). AR54.10-P-1000RK
14 Release charger feed socket (X58/23) and remove Vehicles with CODE 675 (preinstallation for battery charger)
When replacing rear center section paneling (2).
 
15 Install in the reverse order
