Remove/install glove compartment - AR68.10-P-1400RK

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on performing repair, body work and welding on vehicles with airbags and RTE units   AH91.00-P-0002-01M
IMPORTANT Legal requirements on handling and storing airbags and emergency tensioning retractor units   AH91.00-P-0004-01A
IMPORTANT Assessment of airbag and belt tensioner units in accident vehicles   AH91.00-P-0006-01B
1 Disconnect battery ground line MODEL 231
with CODE 294 (Kneebag)
AR54.10-P-0003RK
2 Remove paneling (2) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that paneling (2) is seated correctly on instrument panel.
IMPORTANT Unclip paneling (2) starting at rear and pull out of instrument panel.
SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge

3 Unscrew bolts (5) and remove paneling (4) below glove box (1)    
4 Open glove compartment (1)    
5 Unclip paneling (3) and remove SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 5
6 Remove screw/bolts (7)    
7 Unscrew bolts (6, 6a) and lower glove box (1) downward IMPORTANT Lower glove box (1) only until electrical connectors (8, 9) are accessible.  
8 Disconnect electrical connector (8)    
9 Disconnect electrical connector (9) MODEL 231
with CODE 294 (Kneebag)
 
10 Remove glove box (1)    
11 Install in the reverse order
