- Position transmission vertically.
Attach assembly device (2) to torque converter.
To do so, set the height of the assembly device (2) on the knob (1) so that it can be slided over the guide (A) of the torque converter.
Turn assembly device (2) clockwise until guide (A) lies against torque converter.
- Tighten knob (1) until torque converter and
assembly device (2) engage (arrow).
- Remove torque converter without tilting.
-
- If there are metal shavings in oil pan of transmission. Drain transmission oil from the torque converter through a clean cloth.
If metal shavings are present in the cloth,
replace torque converter.
- In event of transmission oil that is burnt or contaminated with wear debris.
Flush out torque converter, oil lines and oil cooler.
Remove torque converter
- If there are metal shavings in oil pan of transmission. Drain transmission oil from the torque converter through a clean cloth.
- Insert torque converter carefully and without tilting.
Do not use force.
Otherwise the axial end stop on the torque converter will be damaged.
Do not touch or damage the radial shaft sealing ring (4).
Otherwise leaks and damage can occur at the transmission.
Ensure torque converter is correctly seated.
Otherwise the transmission and oil pump will be damaged.
Ensure that the gearing of the drive shaft and of the torque converter align
Insert torque converter
Check that torque converter is seated correctly
Place parallel gauges (01) on support fixture of transmission.
On the torque converter, the angled threaded connection must be measured on the processing surface.
- Adjust digital vernier caliper from
parallel gauge (01) to support fixture of transmission (5) to "0".
- Add determined dimension (D1) and specified wall thickness of support fixture of transmission (D2=16 mm) together Transmission 725.0 with engine 176
