6	Separate soundproofing (3) at perforation (arrow A) using screwdriver and remove section	Model 222 with code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC)) Install the soundproofing (3) or section correctly. Acoustic problems can otherwise occur.
7	Cut service flap (4) into rear shelf at perforation (arrow B) and fold inward	Model 222 with code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))
8	Tear open soundproofing (3) over belt retractor at perforation (arrow C) and push toward rear	Model 222 with code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))
		Install the soundproofing (3) correctly. Acoustic problems can otherwise occur.
9	Disconnect electrical connector (5) from suspension strut (7)
10	Detach corresponding complete wheel		AR40.10-P-1102A
11	Detach trim (8) behind suspension strut (7) and push to side
12	Detach line bracket (9)
13	Disconnect hydraulic line from connecting point (10) and seal lines using suitable stop plugs		AR32.50-P-0024SX

14	Detach cover from spring link (11)
15	Detach suspension strut (7) from spring link (11)		AR35.20-P-0114LF
		Make sure that the suspension strut (7) is installed at the correct position on the spring link (11).

16	Unfasten threaded connection securing spring control arm (11) to rear axle carrier (12)	Do not detach spring control arm (11) from rear axle carrier (12).

17	Detach bracket with torsion bar linkage of level sensor from spring control arm (11)		AR35.20-P-0114LF
18	Detach spring link (11) from wheel carrier (13)	Replace bolt.

19	Fold down spring control arm (11)	Carefully fold down spring control arm (11). Otherwise, the wheel carrier (13) will be damaged.
20	Lower vehicle slightly	Do not lower vehicle too far. Otherwise, the folded-down spring control arm (11) will be damaged.
21	Unscrew nuts (6) from suspension strut (7) and remove suspension strut (7) with cover (8) from below	Make sure that the cover (8) is installed at the correct position.
		Aid of helper required.

22	Remove cover (8) from suspension strut (7)	When replacing the suspension strut (7)
	Check
23	Check suspension strut (7)	When reinstalling suspension strut (7) If suspension strut (7) is damaged: ↓ Replace suspension strut (7).
24	Dispose of damaged suspension strut (7) correctly	When replacing the suspension strut (7) Observe disposal regulations.
25	Install in the reverse order
26	Fill and bleed ABC system		AR32.50-P-0021SX
27	Calibrate stroke of suspension strut (7)		AR40.20-P-0301LF
		Whenever a suspension strut is replaced, calibration using the diagnostic system must be performed in the menu "Control units - Adaptation/Teach-in processes".
