Risk of injury
When blowing out extinguishing agent lines, extinguishing agent particles which escape at high pressure from extinguishing agent nozzles can cause injuries to the eyes and skin.
Skin irritations can occur when extinguishing agent dust contacts the skin.
The respiratory paths can be irritated by inhaling extinguishing agent dust.
Safety instructions/precautions
- Only blow out extinguishing agent lines in the open air
- While blowing out extinguishing agent lines wear a fine dust filter mask, safety glasses, protective gloves and closed work clothes
- While blowing out extinguishing agent lines no other persons may be located in the inflation area of the extinguishing agent nozzles
First-aid measures
- After contact with the eyes immediately rinse out the eyes thoroughly with flowing water, remove any contact lenses. Then consult an eye doctor
- After contact with the skin immediately wash off the affected skin areas thoroughly with water
- After inhaling go into the fresh air immediately, drink water and blow your nose in order to clean the nose and throat
