WARNING Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove left-hand air filter housing   AR09.10-P-1151MNL
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Do not install upper engine cover until after the leak test.  
2 Unclip electrical line of lambda sensor on left before catalytic converter (G3/3)    
3 Unclip electrical connections (2, 4) from bracket    
4 Release and disconnect electrical connector (2)    
5 Remove lambda sensor on left before catalytic converter (G3/3) IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
22 mm lambda sensor socket
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Coat thread with heat-resistant lubricant.  
    Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter to exhaust system at front *BA14.00-P-1001-02B 
6 Cover sensor tip of lambda sensor on left before catalytic converter (G3/3) with protective cover When reusing lambda sensor on left before catalytic converter (G3/3).  
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective covers Fig 2
7 Seal threaded hole of oxygen sensor on left before catalytic converter (G3/3) with suitable stop plug SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Read out and erase fault memory    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Perform an engine test run; check engine for functionality and exhaust system for leaktightness    
11 Install upper engine cover
