Remove Inner C-Pillar Side Wall - Ar63.10-P-0700-01LF

Model 222 

except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Model 222.0/1

    except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)

    Mark separating point on Inner C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (area A).

    IMPORTANTDimensions  :

    a = approx 20 mm

    b = approx. 50 mm

  2. Model 222.0/1

    except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)

    Expose spot welds on inner C-pillar side wall (1) and cut out (areas B1 ).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas B1 ).

  3. Expose spot welds on inner C-pillar side wall (1) and cut out (areas B, B2 and C).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas B, B2 and C).

  4. Expose self-piercing riveting on inner C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2) and cut with Ø 6 mm bit (areas D and E).

    IMPORTANT The self-piercing riveting can also be separated with a riveter for self-piercing and flow-form rivets (areas D).

  5. Model 222.9

    except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)

    Expose spot welds on inner lower C-pillar (1) and cut out (areas B4 and B5 ).

    IMPORTANT Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area B5).

    Expose spot welds on bottom inner C-pillar reinforcement (3) and cut out (areas B3 ).

  7. Model 222.9

    except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Heat bottom inner C-pillar reinforcement (3) om crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT A foam piece is located in the crosshatched area.

  8. Model 222.9

    except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Remove bottom inner C-pillar reinforcement (3).

    Mark separating points on inner C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (areas J and I).

    IMPORTANTDimensions  :

    i = approx 60 mm

    j = approx 150 mm

    Expose spot welds on inner C-pillar (1) and cut out (areas H1 and H2 ).

  11. Heat inner C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

  12. Remove C-pillar inner side wall (1) and reinforcement (2).
  13. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  14. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  15. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust (areas F).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
