Remove/Install Sealing For Crank Window On Front Door - AR72.10-P-1905LF

Model 222 

except code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)

WARNING Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Completely lower crank window (5)    
2 Remove door lining   AR72.10-P-1000LF 
3 Remove outside mirror   AR88.70-P-9000LF
4 Remove outside mirror seal from front door (6)    
5 Place strip of paper between trim strip (2) and outer seal (4) NOTES
When removing the outer sealing rail (4) use strip of paper to protect trim strip (2). Otherwise the trim strip (2) can be scratched.
 
6 Remove trim strip (2) NOTES
Carefully lift trim strip (2) out of crank window seal (1).
Otherwise the trim strip (2) can bend and must be replaced.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 1
7 Position adhesive strip below both ends of outer sealing rail (4) and glue to door paneling NOTES
Adhesive strips protects painting. Otherwise the paint can be damaged when removing the outer sealing rail (4).
 
8 Remove outer sealing rail (4) NOTES
Carefully lift outer sealing rail (4) out of bead on door paneling.
Otherwise the outer sealing rail (4) can bend and must be replaced.

9 Unclip trim window frame trim (7) SPECIAL TOOL Clip remover Fig 2
10 Remove inner sealing rail (8) NOTES
Carefully lift inner sealing rail (8) out of bead of inner door panel.
Otherwise the inner sealing rail (8) can bend and must be replaced.
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Fig 1
11 Pull out crank window seal (1) in area of B-pillar cover (3)    
12 Pull out crank window seal (1) in area of outer outside mirror    
13 Unscrew screws (9) from B-pillar cover (3)    
14 Remove B-pillar cover (3)    
15 Remove crank window seal (1) front door window frame (6)    
INSTALLING Install     
16 Connect electrical wiring harness on removed door lining to left front door control unit and right front door control unit    
17 Move crank window (5) upward approx. half way    
18 Moisten crank window seal (1) in assembly area of window frame with lubricant Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
19 Install crank window seal (1) on window frame    
20 Install B-pillar cover (3)    
21 Unscrew screws (9) on B-pillar cover (3)    
22 Moisten front end of crank window seal (1) below belt line with soapy water IMPORTANT Soap solution has the required lubrication characteristics for the installation.  
23 Moisten front end of crank window seal (1) in area of outside mirror with lubricant. Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
24 Push front end of crank window seal (1) downward into window guide rail in area of outside mirror. Simultaneously open crank window (5) IMPORTANT When the crank window (5) is opened, the window guide seal (1) is pulled downward facilitating assembly.  
25 Pull up crank window seal (1) in area of outside mirror until it is in the correct installation position    
26 Insert crank window (1) into window guide rail in area of outside mirror IMPORTANT Ensure that crank window seal (1) is seated correctly.  
27 Move crank window (5) upward approx. half way    
28 Moisten crank window seal (1) below B-pillar cover (3) with soapy water IMPORTANT Soap solution has the required lubrication characteristics for the installation.  
29 Moisten crank window seal (1) in area of B-pillar cover (3) with lubricant Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
30 Slide crank window seal (1) downward in window guide rail in area of B-pillar cover (3). Simultaneously open crank window (5) IMPORTANT When the crank window (5) is opened, the window guide seal (1) is pulled downward facilitating assembly.  
31 Pull up crank window seal (1) in area of B-pillar cover (3) until it is in the correct installation position    
32 Insert crank window seal (1) into window guide rail in area of B-pillar cover (3) IMPORTANT Ensure that crank window seal (1) is seated correctly.  
33 Moisten channel web on trim strip (2) and crank window seal (1) with lubricant Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
34 Install trim strip (2)    
35 Fasten strip of paper at end of trim strip (2) NOTES
When removing the outer sealing rail (4) use strip of paper to protect trim strip (2). Otherwise the trim strip (2) can be scratched.
 
36 Moisten rubber strip on inner sealing rail (8) with lubricant Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
37 Install inner sealing rail (8)    
38 Moisten rubber strip on outer sealing rail (4) with lubricant Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
39 Install outer sealing rail (4) IMPORTANT The outer sealing rail (4) must be flush with the edge of the rear door paneling.  
40 Remove adhesive tape below both ends of outer sealing rail (4)    
41 Coat crank window (1) in assembly area of window frame paneling (7) with lubricant Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
42 Clip in window frame trim (7) IMPORTANT Ensure that window frame trim (7) is seated correctly.  
43 Insert outside mirror seal in front door (6) IMPORTANT Ensure that outside mirror seal is seated correctly in front door (6).  
44 Install outside mirror   AR88.70-P-9000LF
45 Install door lining   AR72.10-P-1000LF 
46 Close crank window (5)
